Outrageous HSBC Settlement Proves the Drug War is a Joke!

Update: War on Terror costs New Zealand $ 185 million over the last five years. If I was John Key I would be incensed that his former colleagues are involved in enabling those terrorists we are trying to fight. Oh I forgot, he has a huge conflict of interests. BOA would collapse without the drug and terror money streams

John Key has most of his paper wealth (running in the many millions) in Bank of America shares. Bank of America is a known conduit for Drug money.

HSBC has branches in New Zealand just in case you are wondering.

Yesterday it was announced that while the NSBC bank was caught in flagrante delicto with regards to the laundering of money from both drug lords and Terrorist organisations the FBI would not start proceedings against the people involved because doing so would jeopardise the bank.

I dedicate this article from Matt Taibbi to every poor sod who got caught with a couple of grams of dope, who is rotting in jail and who will be blood tested because bankster John Key and his vile, venal, narrow minded gang of  MP’s think that banks are above the law and only poor people should go to jail because of drugs.

I also dedicate this article to Maria Santos Gorrostieta the former mayor of Tiquicheo who first lost her husband when she was being shot at and who was finally beaten to death by druglords she dared to stand up against and the 50.000 odd people who were killed, tortured and beheaded in Mexico by the gangsters the bankers helped to launder their money and finally I dedicate this article to all of those who are trying to fight these bastards.

One day we will win!

If you’ve ever been arrested on a drug charge, if you’ve ever spent even a day in jail for having a stem of marijuana in your pocket or “drug paraphernalia” in your gym bag, Assistant Attorney General and longtime Bill Clinton pal Lanny Breuer has a message for you: Bite me.

Breuer this week signed off on a settlement deal with the British banking giant HSBC that is the ultimate insult to every ordinary person who’s ever had his life altered by a narcotics charge. Despite the fact that HSBC admitted to laundering billions of dollars for Colombian and Mexican drug cartels (among others) and violating a host of important banking laws (from the Bank Secrecy Act to the Trading With the Enemy Act), Breuer and his Justice Department elected not to pursue criminal prosecutions of the bank, opting instead for a “record” financial settlement of $1.9 billion, which as one analyst noted is about five weeks of income for the bank.

The banks’ laundering transactions were so brazen that the NSA probably could have spotted them from space. Breuer admitted that drug dealers would sometimes come to HSBC’s Mexican branches and “deposit hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, in a single day, into a single account, using boxes designed to fit the precise dimensions of the teller windows.”

This bears repeating: in order to more efficiently move as much illegal money as possible into the “legitimate” banking institution HSBC, drug dealers specifically designed boxes to fit through the bank’s teller windows. Tony Montana’s henchmen marching dufflebags of cash into the fictional “American City Bank” in Miami was actually more subtle than what the cartels were doing when they washed their cash through one of Britain’s most storied financial institutions.

  1. For the better part of a decade, a San Francisco Bay Area drug ring sold tons of cocaine to the Crips and Bloods street gangs of Los Angeles and funneled millions in drug profits to a Latin American guerrilla army run by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, a Mercury News investigation has found.
This drug network opened the first pipeline between Colombia’s cocaine cartels and the black neighborhoods of Los Angeles, a city now known as the crack capital of the world.

I know several outlying communities in Tasmania and Nz where there would have been a great nucleus for a regeneration of a healthy culture , once the TV plastic instant gratification impulse dies, but they are poisoned by a coterie of semi-retired gang members, who have made (not earned) their money by ruining young peoples’ lives with crap drugs. The police and justice system have had 50 years of coexistence with these scum, and their continued flourishing is simply full proof of corruption and conspiracy. We need to rebuild our justice system
